KATS

KPK - Komunitas Pecinta Kertas / Paper Lover Community make this project, KATS, on which KPK persuade everyone to make a cat doll sculpture (which they call KATS) with papers as the main material. Inspired from 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), KATS are made from reused papers, we can use any kind of used papers like old newspaper, food wrappers, used document papers, etc.

One day, I’m attending Pragamana Karya seminar about KPK, they talk about the history of paper, their community programs, how important a piece of paper is, etc. The following session is a paper workshop, they show to the audience how to make KATS, and then the audience make their own KATS. Because of the time limitation, lots of audience haven’t done their KATS yet, so we all will done it by ourselves later and KPK invite us to upload the photos of our KATS on their Facebook when we’ve done with our KATS.

So this one is my KATS, I make this KATS only have 3 legs (2 long front legs, 1 short leg on the back) and a very long tail, because I wanna make something unique and unusual, I think there’s no border for creativity. It’s not done yet, and all I have to do is paint this KATS of mine and upload the photos of it to KPK’s Facebook, wish me luck!
